At Condos And Trees LLC. we are extremly proud to make kitty products that are durable and strong.
People that say their kitties don't use cat furniture is because they haven't bought ours. Kitties don't like unstable furniture. I wouldn't want to sit at a dinner table with a wobbling chair. The fear of falling! Its the same theory. If you can walk up to a kitty tree and it wobbles before you buy; its not our product.
Our products, depending on item, consist of 2x2, 2x4, 3/8 sisal rope, boards, bolts, diversionary staples, landscape timbers, sonotubes, screws, standard household carpet, staples, and white cedar logs.
Bolts are used to attach the logs onto the base, which ensures a sturdy product.
Screws are used to secure our product. Nails are only used, one location, for the purpose of attaching the bottom 2x2 onto the big base.
No glues are used on our furniture. The carpet is applied with diversionary staples.
We DO NOT stain any wood.
Our goal is to help supply families and kitties with a great product that could last for years. We use thick 3/8 sisal rope, which allows for extra wear and tear. No thin rope on our products. Listen to your kitty scratch at the rope with ease. It's going to take a lot more than a couple scratches to damage our rope.
The overall wear and tear timing is on an individual basis. Our furniture has been known to last for years. The deciding favor depends on if your kitty is a compulsive scratcher. That's ok if so; scratch and play all day and night. Yes, you are buying the product knowing eventually it is going to be damaged. We like to refer to that as "Loved". It will take a lot longer time to show wear and tear then a coach, chair and/or other expensive items.
Maintaining wear and tear should be something to keep in mind. Keeping the product clean, cut off strings that become loose on the carpet, remove staples that become exposed, etc. As visual signs of wear and tear become noticed replacement of the product should be considered.
To help prolong the inevitable wear and tear we use thick 3/8 sisal rope and White Cedar Logs. Cedar Logs are strong and Do Not warp or sag over time. Cedar Logs have a great quality of drying around the heart. The outer layers will crack but the inner layer is solid. Visually seeing signs and hearing settling is natural. No reason to be alarmed.
All of our logs are not exactly straight and our product is mostly made of wood. The temptations to rub and/or touch any type of wood can result in a splinter.
Splinter, in our situation, is a small, thin, sharp piece of wood broken off from a larger piece. Splinters can occur just from rubbing a body part against any style of wood. If a splinter occurs use tweezers to remove and clean the area with soap and water. Watch for redness and/or swelling. Splinters can happen to any person and/or animal. If unable, for any reason, to remove a splinter and/or have redness or swelling consult a vet and/or physician. There is nothing that Condos And Trees LLC. can do to prevent wood splinters.
Another thing that we cannot prevent, but highly recommend NOT to play and climb on our product. The product is strong and adult/children notice quickly. Before you know it someone is on the top. The kitties like to be up high and feel safe. Someone taking over their spot could cause stress and discomfort. We DO NOT want anyone or a kitty to get hurt on one of our products. Please only allow a kitty to play on our kitty products.
Once a kitty has played on our products we DO NOT return, due to, the risk of insects and disease spreading. If there is a manufacturers defect Condos And Trees LLC. does have the right to use discretion which will determined case-by-case basis. Pictures of the product, close up and full view, will be required.
I love making products for kitties and hearing stories about the love our furniture receives. I wouldn't have this amazing career without someone caring and wanting the best for their kitty. Thank you for considering our product. I appreciate it.
Have a wonderful day,
Jennifer
